Summer is the perfect time for parties! You can totally make use of your backyard or patio as the perfect spot to gather friends and neighbors if you’re planning on hosting a block party. Whether you’ve just moved in to your neighborhood or you’ve been there for a long time, it’s always fun to host one.
There are a couple of ways to do a block party: You do it simply or you do it with a WOW factor!
I know you’re probably thinking that parties are tedious. Not only do you have to prepare food but you also have to put the decor and everything else involved.
While putting all of this together may seem like a lot, here are 4 simple tips:
1. Plan it ahead of time. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to prepare for it. Don’t plan it on a Monday or Tuesday and you’d want to do it immediately the coming weekend. Planning it ahead of time reduces the stress of putting the party together.
2. Delegate tasks. If you have friends, family or neighbors who don’t mind helping out, let them help out. Assign them tasks that would also relieve you of potentially overwhelming yourself. After all, this is for everyone’s fun.
3. Make it a one-stop shop. Try to go to one store for all your party needs. For all things food, try to shop all your grocery and food needs in one store. For all your decor needs, try to shop all of them in one store as well.
For example, for styling this block party post, I went to Pier 1 Imports and shopped all of these items in literally less than an hour. Time is essential and having to go to multiple stores for your party needs isn’t the most wise move in managing your time.
4. Lastly, have a specific party theme in mind. Having a specific theme in mind allows you to go straight into shopping mode for those items and allows you less time to wander around the store thinking what you should get.
For styling this post, I had the flower theme in mind and Pier 1 Imports allowed me to put together all of that in such a short amount of time because they have that specific theme going on at the store.
Here are the items that I used in this block party styling:
Pink Ranunculus Flower Ring | Springhill Green Flower Napkin Ring | Pink Flower Placemat | Green Flower Placemat | Bright Flowers With Pompoms Table Runner | Oversized Faux Blush and Green Hydrangea Stem | La Isla Pink Metal Charger | Woven Pink Napkin | Green Woven Napkin | Plaid Napkin (Not available online) | Cabana Cream Petal Lumbar Pillow | Cabana Citrus Petal Lumbar Pillow | Landen White Lantern | Nettie Carved White Tray | Happy Blossoms Painted Stemware | Happy Blossoms Pitcher
I love that I was able to find all the items that I need for a flower theme that I had in mind. But whether you have the nautical, flamingos, classic, palms, or holiday theme in mind, be sure to check out your local Pier 1 Imports!
Our new home isn’t ready for move-in yet but pecial Thanks to David Weekley Homes in Pomona for allowing us to shoot in their backyard. And for my wonderful husband for helping me style the table.
