I started this week's style post series with a pastel crochet outfit and ended it with a bright dress, advice also with a crochet inset. This dress from Dress Up Boutique, which unfortunately, is already sold out (I got the last one!) doesn't intend to be flattering. It's meant to be modest and comfortable. In fact, I'd rather categorize it as quite vintage. The size I got here is medium because they were already out of small but I was so determined to have this color in my closet so I still opted for medium. It's obviously a bit bigger than usual but I think with a small, it's still a bit big. But that's just the style. I don't know of any weddings (yet) that I am invited to this summer but this is something I'd definitely wear if I ever have to! Again, I tend to dress up some pieces more than dress them down but this is just as great for a casual look.
Now as the title goes, this whole outfit is all about being bright and by that I mean the color, and being bold in the accessories department. Typically, one will probably shy away from using statement jewelries because of the already bright color of the dress but if you're going to make a statement, you might as well make a statement overall. The edgier accents would be black and gold but turquoise is just as perfect. The color combination is definitely not for the faint of heart, ha! But not only that, the jewelry pieces aren't for the shy! I mean look at that huge earrings and necklace?
