Happy Columbus Day to all my US friends! I know that not all of you are off today. So to those who has today off from work, well, enjoy! For those of you that don’t, still enjoy! To the rest of you from around the world, hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
In fashion, there are certain rules here and there that if you follow strictly, it would quite a bit difficult to express your artistry in fashion. That said, I tend to not stick with it sometimes…or a lot of times. For example, most colors in fall are jewel tones. I have already metnioned before that I am not usually a fan of muted/dull colors. Thus, I’d brighten it somehow by incorporating summer pieces, which I have already shown you here previously. By doing that, you are also finding “use” for your summer pieces.
This pleated floral skirt from Chantilly Boutique is obviously a summer piece. Because I am in Texas, I can get away with making it a fall look just by simply matching it with a pair of booties – an open toe booties from Deb Shops at that. Really simple trick! For those of you in warmer areas like us, you can totally get away with this look. When it gets colder? Wearing a pair of tights with the same skirt and perhaps a trench coat will definitely do it. Ahhhh, just thinking of styling a piece in different ways.
Hope you like today’s outfit!
