“Youthfulness is not determined by age. It is determined by one’s life force. One who possesses hope is forever young. One who continually advances is forever beautiful.”
People often ask my age only to get disappointed because I never really say. Some people think I’m in my mid-20’s or early 30’s. I leave it like that and I just smile. So what’s my secret to looking young, you might ask.
Well, I honestly do believe that the way we look outside is a reflection of how we feel inside so I am constantly aware of how I feel inside. Let me share with you the 5 “BE’s” to look forever young. If you practice these things, I guarantee you that you will look younger than your age!
1. Be Happy, Always.
There’s a scientific study that proves that happiness is a choice and another study that proves happiness can slow down aging and improve health and well-being. If happiness is a choice and you know that not only it is good for your health but it’s also the best anti-aging, why wouldn’t you choose happiness? It’s all natural and has no side effects…but it sure is contagious! Not only will you be looking forever young but you are also making the people around you just as happy as you are. What a great way to live!
2. Be Loving.
There’s another scientific study that also proves that we are wired for love. When we harbor unforgiveness and bitterness, our brain sends signals to our body to secret toxic chemicals. Our body goes into stress mode which we all know promotes pre-mature aging. You don’t want that! You don’t want to be 25 and look 45! Let me tell you, there are some people like that. Always foster a loving environment for your body. LOVE changes your body chemistry. By that I mean, not only the kind of love towards opposite sex but always choosing to forgive and let go because you’re not really doing it for the other person but you’re doing it for yourself.
3. Be Confident.
Yves Saint-Laurent once said, “Over the years, I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.” Confidence speaks volumes. When you are confident, you can walk into a room full people and they can just feel your vibrant and radiating aura. When you have that confident posture, you portray youthfulness. And again, your brain sends “happy” signals to your body that then in turn produces substances that make you look young.
4. Be a Healthy-Eater.
We all know how our diet affects our health and our well-being in general. I must admit that I am not the healthiest eater out there but I am also not a huge junk-food consumer. Having a balanced diet is a must but I also know that there are certain food types that slow down aging. Some of them are tomatoes, orange, sweet potatoes, avocado, brocolli, brussel sprouts, onion, garlic, asparagus, and grapes. Do a research and find out which healthy foods you can integrate in your lifestyle.
5. Be Efficient in Your Skin Care Regimen.
Our skin is the largest organ in our body and aging is the most evident in our skin. That’s why it is very important to have an effective skin care regimen. If you already have a day and night skin care regimen that works for you, great! I recommend adding the Olay Regenerist Luminous Facial Oil. I got mine at Walgreen’s for $27.99. It contains 9 natural oils that moisturize and conditions your skin, preserves balance, and evens your tone. Because it is lightweight and non-greasy, you can also use it during the day before putting on your make-up.
Now if you haven’t discovered an effective skin care regimen, you might want to go to a dermatologist or aesthetician who can help you find the best products that will suit your skin type. It is very important to take care of our skin to keep us looking young!
Olay is a worldwide leader in skin care and has been trusted by women for over 60 years, maintaining its founding philosophy: to maintain a deep understanding of women’s changing needs and to combine products that fit their needs with the latest advances in skin care technology. Regenerist was created along those lines to address women’s anti-aging needs, and millions of women have tried it and loved it, making Regenerist the #1 anti-aging moisturizer.*
