I’ve always loved the area of The Woodlands, TX but I don’t always frequent it because it’s an hour away drive from where I live and it’s about 28 miles from Houston itself I believe. I have only been to The Woodlands about three times since we’ve moved to Houston from Miami a few years ago and the only couple of places that I’ve got to visit were The Woodlands Mall and The Market Street. I remember falling in love with The Market Street the first time I saw it. It was around the holidays as well when I first got to visit it so it was festive. Sadly, that first visit was quick and short and I never really got to explore the town square and the shops.
When an invitation came for a holiday blogger preview event at The Market Street last weekend and an opportunity to stay at the Hyatt Market Street was offered, I was thrilled! See, the first time I went to The Market Street, I didn’t even notice there was a hotel! And it was right by the Starbucks where we went in to get some coffee. The Hyatt Market Street is a 70-room boutique hotel that basically anchors the 75+ stores and restaurants at The Market Street.
I got there around 8 PM on a Friday. Typically, the place should be packed but because it was cold that night, I believe a lot of people just decided to chill at home. After checking in, I went outside just to check out some of the stores. Kendra Scott, which is one of the stores that we came to have a preview at the following day, was right in front of the hotel. There’s also J.Crew, Elaine Turner, Trina Turk, Tommy Bahamas, and more. There’s also a movie theatre within the town square! It’s probably about a few hundred feet from the hotel.
This is the view of the front desk and lobby from the second floor. I love the bamboo-like design on the circular wall, this chandelier that kinda looks like water droplets, and the circular stairs.
On the second floor is where the Market Street Kitchen Bar and another restaurant which I believe is open only during the day. If you’re following me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen a couple of posts from the Market Street Kitchen and Bar the following day after our blogger preview. You can see that post here and here. They had a live band playing when I came to check the place out. I never really got to try any of their dinner menu though because I wasn’t hungry at all when I got there. I basically just had Starbucks coffee and a few celery sticks as snacks. The food that we had though the following day was delicious! It’s a bummer I forgot what it’s called. Hopefully, I get to go back soon so I can try their food.
From the second floor, you can go outside the patio where the infinity pool is at and a place just to chill. They had a little bonfire going on to keep the place warm for those who would like to hang outside, even on cold nights. I’d say that the hotel is great for couples, bachelors and bachelorettes who would like an accommodation at The Woodlands that are just few steps away from shops and dining. If you are in Houston and you’re planning for a staycation with your friends and you guys like dining and chill evenings, the Hyatt Market Street is a wonderful place to stay in.
Now the room is another amazing story. I stayed in a King Suite room I believe. It has a living area and a desk, as well as a mini bar that’s actually right on the wall. Normally, I don’t like dark interiors in a room but how they put this together is just great! The black, white, and purple color combination was right on point. And even though it seems that there’s a lot of going on in the picture – prints everywhere and what not, it’s actually pretty cozy and well put together in person. I love the curtains that kinda separate the living and the bed area. I think those are what made this room a bit whimsical!
I just had to snap a photo of the bathroom. Don’t you love hotel bathrooms? Because they are usually bigger than our normal household bathrooms, ha!
Overall, I really had a nice, relaxing evening during my stay there. I can get used to the Hyatt Market Street lifestyle, I’ll take it anytime! During the holidays, if you’re planning on shopping at the Market Street, you probably would want to consider just staying overnight at the Hyatt before heading back to Houston. After all, shopping, though a retail therapy, can still be exhausting.
Oh, before I forget to mention, I asked for a late check-out since we had that blogger preview and I didn’t know when exactly it will be over. I asked for a noon check-out but the front desk person (I believe her name was Roxy) offered instead a 1-PM check out. I liked that! I love it when the employees go the extra mile for guests. It actually helped me a lot not to be so much in a rush after the event which was over by 11.
Thank you Hyatt Market Street for a wonderful experience!
