Ahhh, back to skin care talk. I’m sure you all know that the skin is the largest organ of the body and as such, we must take very good care of it even at a young age. For as long as I can remember, my skin is my vanity. I’d often obsessed in my personal skin care because I know how important it is.
So why take care of your skin?
- To prevent dryness and breakouts
When we’re not taking good care of our skin by properly cleansing it and moisturizing it, it is more prone to dryness and breakouts and other skin conditions. - To prevent premature aging
One of the signs of aging is primarily visible in our skin. How can you normally tell when a person is aging? The most obvious one is the skin.
But which skin care product is right for you?
There is no doubt that there are so many skin care options out there. It seems that new ones come out on a daily basis and the amount of information can be quite overwhelming and the decision-making can be challenging when every single one claims to be the best.
Personally, there are 4 factors I would consider for choosing the right skin care products for me:
- Ingredients – Are they natural? Are they effective?
- Trusted Name – Can I trust the maker of this product?
- Reviews – Are there good results on others?
- Dermatologist approved and tested – You’d be surprised how many products out there aren’t really tested by dermatologist.
Since I’m constantly trying out new products, thought I’d share with you guys 3 new ones I’ve been able to try. These are skin care products that are formulated, tested, and approved by a local Houston dermatologist Dr. Rashid M. Rashid of Mosaic Dermatology. Dr. Rashid is board certified by the American Academy in Dermatology in 2011 and has numerous awards including the American Medical Association (AMA) Leadership Award.
3 Must-Have Dermatologist Formulated and Approved Skin Care Products For a Healthy Younger Looking Skin:
-
Mosaic Gentle Glycolic Facial and Body Cleanser
Cleansing is the first step to a healthy skin. We women tend to put a lot of cosmetics on our face which can cause dirt and oil build-up, eventually clogging up our pores. This is when acne-causing bacteria can show up and inflame our pores.A gentle, paraben-free cleanser such as the Mosaic Gentle Face & Body Cleanser is essential to your skin care routine. I love that the main ingredients are all natural. The alpha hydroxy acids were derived from Passion Flower, Lemon, Grape & Pineapple, combined with Vitamin C & Japanese Green Tea. These work great as an exfoliant and antioxidant. The glycolic acid was extracted from sugar cane and the lactic acid was derived from milk – both to have good exfoliating properties as well. This cleanser also contains seaweed and kola nut which helps soothe, soften, and heal; and passion flower, pineapple, and grapefruit extracts which are great for protecting and conditioning the skin. You will see a notable difference* in the condition of your skin in just a couple of days of using the Mosaic Gentle Face & Body Cleanser. If you have problematic skin such as dryness, acne, or hyper pigmentation, this would be a good start.
-
Mosaic Cleansing Cream
Unlike the Mosaic Gentle Glycolic Face & Body Cleanser, the Mosaic Cleansing Cream is a stronger cleansing option which is ideal if you have recurring issues with acne, blackheads, whiteheads, clogged pores or comedones. Although it’s not necessarily natural because of the main ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide, it is very effective in getting rid of acne-causing bacteria. It contains a regulated amount of 10% which is safe on the skin.
If you have acne or other skin conditions and you’re not sure if this will help you, please do not hesitate to call Mosaic Dermatology at 281.941.5556.
-
Mosaic Retinol Cream
You may be 20 or 40 or older, Mosaic Retinol Cream is something you can benefit from. It’s never too early or too late to take advantage of the skin health benefits of Retinol A. It is good for moisturizing. While it is thick, it’s not oily so if you have oily skin, you don’t have to worry about it. You can expect to see reduced appearance of blemishes, acne, abnormal discolorations and wrinkles.
Being 40, I mainly use this to reduce the fine lines in my forehead and as part of my skin care night time routine.
If you are constantly dealing with acne breakouts, blackheads, or other similar conditions, it is best to consult your dermatologist. However, these Mosaic Dermatology products are dermatologist formulated, tested, and approved and are a great start for a healthy, younger looking skin.*
*Results may vary per person.
