Did you get to watch the Oscar Awards last night? How do you feel about this year’s celeb red carpet styles? Whose dress was your favorite? I certainly loved Alexa Chung’s and Scarlet Johansson’s! What about shoes? Which ones are your favorite?

Oh the glitz and glamour of Hollywood! It has so much influence on us whether we like it or not and whether we are aware of it or not. I think subconsciously, even though Hollywood can have a negative connotation sometimes, ambulance deep inside,  we somehow wonder what it feels like to be a Hollywood star, with the glamorous lifestyle and fashion the celebrities have. Our buying decisions are often affected by what we see on television shows and movies.

Well, while it might be too far out for most of us to be Hollywood stars, we can always create our own real-life red carpet, Oscar’s style! I think Hollywood can be a state of mind and if it can be, we can make happen whatever we put our minds into!

Being glamorous doesn’t necessarily equate to spending thousands of dollars to get the look. With that said, I created my “own” Oscar’s style that may not necessarily be as grand but it’s certainly wearable for special occasions – showing you a couple of looks that I put together, including my two of my new fave picks from DSW. How can we not love DSW? They have designer and name brand items at reasonable prices.

Here’s the first part of two real life red carpet Oscar’s style I created – a Parker sequin dress which I picked up from a local Tootsie’s branch a few weeks ago and I decided to match it with these simple but classy Charles by Charles David pact reptile pumps from DSW. I love the versatility of these pumps – you can use it with your dress pants or pencil skirt and jacket for work and a sequin cocktail dress like this one for play.
