Since our Lakewood Church choir attire color code is purple and black, I thought I’m done with that shade. I thought I didn’t want to have anything to do with purple…lighter or darker shade. But come spring and I see all the dresses, tops, and skirts in lilac and lavander, I can’t help but be enticed. Thus, the dress I’m wearing on today’s style post. What’s not to like about this color? It’s so dainty and so feminine. I know you’ve been hearing (or in this case, reading) me say the word “feminine” quite a lot these days and I promise I haven’t turned into a feminist (not that there’s something wrong with it) but I like anything that can bring out the “softness” in a woman.
I have mentioned several times here how our choices of colors mean something. I read once that when you wear lilac, you demonstrate self-confidence and knowing what you want. How ironic that something so soft like this shade can actually mean you’re demonstrating self-confidence? I like that!
Now since it is very light in shade, my thought is to pop it off with colors. I know that some ladies would probably go easy and neutral on the jewels and accessories but that could make the look “stale.” Of course, that’s not to say it’s a bad idea – it’s just a personal preference. You will notice that from the head down to the heels, I have a touch of mint or turquoise. If you want to go a bit edgy, use black accents instead for a sweet evening look.
My other favorite part of this outfit is the stacked wired bangles from Belle Vie Designs. I had no idea which bracelet to wear with this until the bangles came in the mail and thought they were perfect! They have different stacks available so be sure to check out their store.
