Yesterday, we decided to take a short road trip to Brenham, TX, which is about an hour away from Houston. My mom, sis-in-law, and niece headed out there for a fun afternoon. Every spring, the blue bonnets bloom. For those of you non-Texans, blue bonnets are the State's flower. It's pretty captivating to see a field full of blue bonnets. So every year, people from Houston, and I assume from other parts of Texas too go to Brenham to enjoy the sight of these pretty flowers. I was a bit disappointed that they weren't as plenty as they were the first time I saw them a few years ago but still we found a location (on a private property mind you) with a decent amount and that's where we had taken these photos. Thankfully, the owner was nice enough to let us. Before that though, we made a stop at the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory. Unfortunately, the last batch of tour ended so we didn't get to see the factory. However, we had some delightful scoops of the famous and delicious Blue Bell! We really enjoyed our time there and I will be posting photos of my niece here as well.
On to the outfit, honestly, we had already shot this dress a few days ago but for some reason, I didn't like how I put it together. Not a total fashion fail but just didn't come out the way I had imagined it to be. When I learned that we were going to Brenham, this is the dress that immediately came to mind that I wanted to shoot in the blue bonnets field, with a matching hat. I didn't plan on taking with me any bag but my sis-in-law brought her giant straw tote bag, so I borrowed it for the shoot. It all worked out well! This lace dress from Chicwish is perfect – not only for dressing up but also for dressing down like this. It's comfy, it's classy, it's chic. The length is modest which I really liked and the contrast trimmings are just wonderful. Hope you enjoyed this post!

You are as beautiful as these bluebonnets of my home/native state of Texas. I love this dress, and those sandals are cute. Wonderful accessories and a lovely straw hat. Fabulous style!
