Fall outfits are so much fun. What I love about it is that you can literally use pieces that are already readily available in your wardrobe. It’s just a matter of choosing the right colors that are appropriate for the season. That’s why it is very important to have key pieces (staples) that will work no matter what season.
The key to making fall and winter outfits fun, cozy, warm, and fashionable is layering. Layering up is fairly easy to do that even your 6 year old daughter or niece or your 85-year old grandmother can do it. In this post, I have actually layered up a sleeveless dress and a lace sheer turtle neck top. Separately, they can be used for summer and spring.
The beauty of layering is that you can turn any pieces in your closet into a stylish fall outfit.
Here Are Some Sample Layering Combinations:
- Tank Top + Long Sleeves T-Shirt + Light or Heavy Cardigan (depending on the weather) + Vest + Leggings
- Button Down Shirt (chambray is awesome for layering!) + Sweater/Pullovers + Mini Skirt + Tights
- Turtle Neck Shirt + Dress (as shown in this post) + Tights or Leggings
- Dressy Top + Moto Jacket + Scarf + Jeans
- Long Sleeves T-Shirt + Poncho or Oversized Sweater + Jeans or Leggings
The key is to be creative and be resourceful. Having key pieces in your wardrobe that you can wear all year long by mixing and matching is a must. If you’re wondering what the key pieces are that should be in your wardrobe, click here.
Of course, that’s not to say that you can’t buy additional trendy pieces. By all means do so if you have the budget! *Wink*
