Since I am doing a party/cocktails series, sales thought this week could have not been a more perfect time to introduce another new luxury store – Boutique Sui Numeris. Boutique Sui Numeris, a classical Latin phrase and means "of its own rank", is located in Austin, Texas. I could see why. They only carry the highest quality clothing from famous designers such as Vera Wang, Badgley Mischka, Valentino, Dior, and others. They also carry authentic vintage clothing.
It was started about a year ago by Dee, the owner of the store, who basically got tired of seeing women pretty much wear the same dress. Sometimes, it happens on Hollywood red carpet too! Which is why some tabloids and magazines already came up with their own column, "Who Wore it Better?" Of course, it's so much fun to see who wore it better in celebrities, but can you imagine going to an event and seeing another woman wearing the same exact dress as yours? It has yet to happen to me and I'd probably just laugh it off anyways but I'd still want to be unique as much as possible.
Although it is great to dress up like a celebrity and feel like one at least, eventually we lose our own style and individuality when we base the way we dress on a celebrity style that millions of other women all over the world have seen, don't you think? In starting Boutique Sui Numeris, Dee's goal is to bring back that individuality that each of us should have.
With millions of cookie-cutter and mass-produced styles sold everyday in stores, I could imagine it is quite a challenge to accomplish that. How does Sui Numeris do it? Well, being a true boutique, they normally do not sell more than two pieces of the same style. I thought that's great! And here's an even better part. They give back! A portion of their proceeds benefit various charities. In fact last month, they did a "Pumped to Go Pink" Breast Cancer Awareness on their facebook page and it did very well.
Here's another thing. I have always loved women-owned businesses. I admire women who dare take the risk to start their own business. It's never easy. I kinda dislike that we are "considered" a minority (haha!) in business, especially in the fashion industry, when we actually dominate it, you know? So ladies, I really encourage you to support women-owned, independent businesses such as Boutique Sui Numeris. Not only will you be getting a unique designer style but you will also received an impeccable service. Even if you're not located in Austin, they have a website www.boutiquesui.com where you can view the collections they carry and purchase it right there.
Be sure to hit LIKE on their Facebook page and follow them on Twitter to show support to a woman-owned boutique! Would you do that ladies (and gents)?
