A Pop of Orange

We were shooting some outfits yesterday and by 7:30, it started to get dark. It dawned on me that it really is that time of the year already when days are becoming shorter and nights longer. Whenever the third quarter of the year comes, it usually means a lot of family reunions, cocktail parties, and other bunch of events. I’m not too excited for the coming cold weather (okay maybe we need a little bit of that in Houston) but I sure am excited about gatherings – it’s probably the season when most people dress up the finest.

Cocktail parties are what I have in mind when we shot this lotus leaf dress from an overseas partner online retailer VJ Style. This dress is beautiful! I love the lotus half part of it. Although I must admit that I’m not too fond of the multi-colored gems on the shoulders. I think it would have been better if they are plain sequins or pearls but not multi-color. Then again, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder – check out the pictures below for yourself, what may not look good to me may look good to you anyways. If you don’t like them, you can always remove them without damage.

What do you think of the orange studded platform pumps?! Aren’t they awesome? Love the gold rose studded details. I never thought I’d ever get orange shoes. Yes they are orange, not coral. They are a bit high though I really could use some height but I’m still learning how to walk in these tower high heels.
