In case you're wondering why I've been so quiet lately…our wedding is in 6 weeks y'all! Not that I'm counting down. Okay maybe I am…for three reasons: 1. I am excited 2. I am nervous 3. I don't want to forget the date! You know, sometimes you get so pre-occupied with a lot of things that you forget to eat, brush your teeth, shower, or what day and date it is. Ha!
Other than the fact that I'm busy mastering another one of my ventures, I'm also pre-occpupied in finishing the last touches of our wedding. As promised, I will share with you little by little the details.
I couldn't wait to share with you guys our wedding invitation suite from Minted. I couldn't have picked a better company to get our wedding invitaitons done.
I wanted our wedding to be classic and elegant so I want to set the tone and let the guests know sort of what to expect at the wedding. I read somewhere, prior to planning our wedding, that the invitations will set the tone for your wedding so I wanted a really classy invitation.
I've looked at other places and while the prices are competitive across the board, I didn't want our invitation to be so common.
Just to give you a little background – Minted is actually a market place for artists. The designs that you see on there are original artist designs and whenever you purchase from them, you are supporting real artists and not just commercially-produced products.
So I've looked at Minted.com and found this ornate monogram suite. It doesn't come in a set but you'd have to order it a-la-carte which is better for me because I can just pick and choose what I wanted to include in the suite. I got the ornate monogram invitation with gold foiling and the ornate monogra RSVP cards as well as the matching stamps to go with it.
The best part about it was that they had FREE recipient addressing so we didn't have to hire a calligrapher. Besides, calligraphy addressing would have gotten so expensive with the 125 invitations that we sent out.
I am extremely happy with the quality of our Minted wedding invitations. I don't know if you remember, but we also got our Save the Date cards from them. We've got a TON of compliments about those and got a gazillion more compliments with our wedding invitations.
For both Save the Date cards and the invitations and RSVPs, I chose the Signature paper which is amazing! The quality is just superb. And what is a good company without a good customer service? Minted has an excellent customer service. Their in-house designers working on the personalization of my invitations have been very patient with me. I've had a few changes and they did it with so much grace and patience. It also had a hiccup towards the end but they were able to fix it for me without any complaints on their end. It's just an overall wonderful experience!
I may be pretty biased but down the years, I will look back at our invitations and won't feel that they are dated at all. They're just timeless, in my opinion at least!
I love everything about our suite but other than the gold foil, this backing (which you have the option to add for a fee) with the scripture is my absolute favorite. It just truly reflects our love story…a story written by God.
And for those who know me know that I am crazy about anything gold. If I could have a gold underwear (kidding!), I will wear it. If I could have a gold wedding dress, I would wear it. But I am too traditional to even go that far. That being said, to match the gold foiling, I DIY'd this belly band to hold our suite together. It matches exactly the ornate on the invitation since I traced it and cut it. This was something I didn't know I had! Who would have thought I can DIY something? Ha!
I can't say enough good things about Minted guys and I highly recommend them. To check out Minted's current promotions, click here.
