I must admit, I really have been feeling un-pretty lately. Perhaps it's the hormones, the stress, or just the fact that I've been sick on and off for a month and haven't been really feeling my best. If you haven't noticed, I have also put on a few pounds.
I remember a couple of years ago, I went all the way down to 99 lbs and although I thought I looked good that way, my friends said otherwise and they were planning to do an intervention because they thought I was intentionally trying to lose weight to the point of being anorexic.
Now that I have gained a few lbs, a lot of people have said that I look more athletically built and my boyfriend likes it. Honestly, I am indifferent. This whole "love yourself" thing is a bit tricky right now for me. I don't know if I like myself with a little more "volume".
However, at the end of the day, it's really not about what other people think about me. It's what I think about myself…it's how I feel about myself because it will eventually show in how I carry myself. It will reflect in my confidence or the lack thereof. I know that no matter how much I weigh, I have to love myself.
I know that a lot of you women can relate with the struggle. Sometimes, it's hard to feel good about yourself, especially if you will base it upon the opinions of others. Society has categorized a lot of things so much, including our body types and it's as if it seems that there's a right one and a wrong one. The question is…is there really?
Each woman's body is unique and it's yours and yours alone. What looks good for you may not necessarily look good for others and what looks good for others may not necessarily look good for you.
The bottom line is all about learning to appreciate yourself. A woman's body goes through so much changes, especially after child birth, that it's often challenging to appreciate it as it goes through different changes and stages, right? And if we're not going to learn to adapt with it and appreciate it, then we're going to be contented on how we look.
That is of course not to say that we have to let go and not exercise and not try to be fit. Those are all great things and are highly recommended! But if after doing all of those and you still don't feel your body type fits the "right" category, then don't fret!
Speaking of unique body types, o.b. tampons believes that every woman's body is different. That’s why o.b.® tampons are designed to help stop leaks by expanding all-around to fit each unique shape. Gotta love products that cater to your specific need, correct?
Sanitary napkins are one-size fits all but not o.b. tampons. I think I already mentioned this before but what I love about it is that it's very handy. What I have was those pocket-size boxes that contain 18 tampons.
I like the fact that it has different types – from light flow to heavy flow, from silky smooth cover to higher absorbency. You can tell that the brand has really put a lot of work into the product research to understand a woman's needs.
Well, part of loving yourself is providing what it needs so you have to make sure you find the right products that work for you.
