I was looking for a particular quote and came across the one above and thought it's perfect for today's post. We've already heard so many say "Life is too short…so do this, do that.." I figured, I might as well add – "Life is too short to wear boring colors."

My mom taught me that as I get older, I shouldn't wear dark colors too much because they'd make me look mature and old. And it is true. I've seen ladies in their 70s and 80s and wear pastels and thought it's adorable. When my grandma was still living, my mom wouldn't buy her dark-colored clothes. She'd always get pinks, light blues, and mints for her.

Anyway, I've already said waaaaayyyyy too many times here that colors do suggest something. They do have psychological meaning. So you will find that branding experts carefully select colors for company logos and branding.

Just for information purposes, I looked up the meaning of yellow and here's what it says: Yellow is the color of sunshine. It's associated with joy, happiness, intellect, and energy. Yellow produces a warming effect, arouses cheerfulness, stimulates mental activity, and generates muscle energy.  Bright, pure yellow is an attention getter, which is the reason taxicabs are painted this color.  Use yellow to evoke pleasant, cheerful feelings.

Aside from the fact that I'm especially enchanted with yellow these days, I picked this top from La Premier Boutique because of its quite unique style. It's got a contrasting black and white bandeau and the midriff part is see-thru, and the flowy assymetrical cut is fascinating! Typically, you can wear this with a pair of dark wash denim pants or shorts but putting it together with a pencil skirt will make a totally unexpected look, don't you think?
