I think every woman needs to have pearls in their collections and I mean not just faux pearls but the real thing. I may have not worn real pearls here in my blog but I do have some in my jewelry collection. Most of them were gifts. Throughout the years, pearls have become a metaphor for something beautiful, rare, fine, admirable and valuable and I could see why. They said that a natural pearl is formed when a foreign substance slips into the oyster between the mantle and the shell and the substance becomes an irritant. The oyster then forms a "defense" and that's what turns into these beautiful pearls. We often relate this story to inspire us in life. As women, I believe we're expected to perform different roles and as we do, we encounter challenges that often "irritate" us but amazingly, God has given us this unique ability to turn these irritants into something beautiful within us. That's why I said every woman needs to have pearls in their collection – not just because of it's physical beauty but because of what it truly symbolizes.
